Enter the Harrison Days fair
Goal: post a score in each contest and earn ribbons.
Axe throw
Section titled “Axe throw”- Find the Harrison Days fair panel in the side panel and click Axe throw. A dialog opens with a target.
- Click Start. The status line reads “Throw 1 of 5 · 0 points · wind ←2”. The arrow and number show the wind.
- Click the target area once to lock your aim as the marker sweeps side to side. Click again to lock the height. That is one throw. Keyboard players can focus the target and press Space or Enter instead.
- Allow for the wind. Each throw has new wind, and the sweep speeds up as you go.
- After five throws the dialog shows your total and any ribbon. Rings pay 50, 30, 20 or 10 points from the bullseye outward.
Ribbons: blue at 200, red at 150, white at 100.
Crosscut saw
Section titled “Crosscut saw”- Click Crosscut saw, then Start.
- A marker moves back and forth along the saw. Click when it reaches the shaded end of the stroke. A tap very near the end (in the last 5%) cuts 1.4 inches of the 24-inch log, a tap in the last 14% cuts 1.0 inch, and anything earlier jams the saw for about half a second.
- Keep going until the log is through. Your score is 1,000 minus 25 per second minus 10 per jam. Rush too much and you jam. Wait too long and the clock beats you.
Ribbons: blue at 520, red at 440, white at 360.
When a round ends, click Play again to retry or Leave the fair to close the dialog. Your best score for each contest is saved. Ribbons count each time you reach their line.
Fair champion adds your best axe score to your best saw score. See read the leaderboards.
What can go wrong
Section titled “What can go wrong”The contests get harder as you string good throws or strokes together, so a streak is worth having but never easy to extend.
In the hosted game the server sets up each round and works out the score from your recorded taps. If a round does not count, the dialog says so. Play at your own pace.
A best score of 0 does not save, so the panel still says “not tried yet”.
Closing the dialog mid-round abandons the round.
